Jonathan E. Schaeffer

Jonathan Schaeffer brings an analytical approach to the insurance business after working for eight years in the investment banking and private investment areas.  Jonathan’s unique background allows him to craft innovative solutions tailored to the personal and professional goals of the families and businesses he works with.  Jonathan views insurance as an integral component of an individual’s investment portfolio and is deeply passionate about helping people protect their assets.

Jonathan began his career as a professional baseball player with the Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics Baseball Clubs.  From June 2001 to July 2003, Jonathan was an Investment Banking Analyst for Goldman, Sachs & Company, where he worked within the firm’s Leveraged Finance Group.  He worked with numerous corporations across multiple industry sectors, focused on leveraged buyouts, acquisition financing, and capital-raising through the bank and bond markets.  Jonathan’s transaction history while at Goldman includes financings in excess of $6 billion.

Following his tenure at Goldman, Sachs & Co., Jonathan became Vice President of Business Development for The Convex Group, a private, diversified media and entertainment technology holding company.

For the three years prior to joining Gilbert-Krupin, Jonathan was Vice President of Business Development for Waveland Capital Partners, a private investment firm.  While at Waveland, the firm deployed over $250 million of equity capital, making direct investments primarily into domestic energy projects and companies.   Jonathan is a Registered Representative with FINRA and holds his Series 7, 62, and 63 licenses.

Jonathan holds a BA in Sociology from Stanford University, where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball Team.   He received the Scholar-Athlete Award and was named All-American and Pacific Ten All-Conference.

Jonathan is active in the Los Angeles community, where he sits on the board of the Men’s Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and is an active member of President’s Circle Avant-Garde at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  Jonathan and his wife, Zoe, live with their daughter in Los Angeles, CA.
